Why is fps dropping?

Greetings! Two monitors with a refresh rate of 144hz (DVI-D) and 60hz (HDMI) are connected to one video card (GTX 980). Desktop extension enabled. The main monitor is set to 144hz. The problem is that if you perform any actions on the second monitor (which is 60hz), then the fps on the main monitor drops. This is not about games, but about simple surfing the Internet through a browser.
PS When monitors are connected to different video cards (integrated and discrete), the result is the same.

As far as I understand, if a monitor with a refresh rate of 60Hz is given a 3d load, the second monitor will "adjust" to it and also switch to 60Hz mode, thereby limiting the refresh rate in the game to 60. All questions to Microsoft (since Unix systems don't see this mess), but they won't answer you. The way out is to change the second monitor to support 144Hz. Disabling vertical sync only helps mentally. In fact, both monitors operate at a frequency of 60Hz, although the FPS can jump up to 300. Picking in the Nvidia control panel also does not help
