What is the difference between a 4K monitor and a 4K TV?

To evaluate the size and usability of 43-inch 4K monitors, I went to a store with TVs.
As a result, on 43-inch 4K TVs, the pixels are just huge, all in squares, even from a comfortable viewing distance.
Will the 43-inch 4K monitor also have everything in squares?

The difference between a monitor and a TV (except for the presence of a tuner on the TV and the difference in the set of inputs) is what range of brightness they have (TVs have a brighter backlight), which gamma curve is selected (for TVs it is set to a stronger contrast) what range of saturation. It is possible that there are also modes of adaptation to different aspect ratios of the input signal picture.
What you have observed has nothing to do with the matrix device - this is probably the result of the fact that the store does not have a 4K video source.

43" 4K monitors

Doesn't your neck hurt? If you sit like a classic monitor - well, let it be a meter away - the field of view is not enough for a full-fledged perception of information. That is the difference between "TVs" and "monitors" - not in technical terms, but in terms of content - the zone of perception is much smaller for the kintsa.

In the resolution of the broadcast video signal. Set your monitor to 640x480 and you will see all the same "pixels".
