Which SSD to put in MBP MD101?
In 2017, I finally came to overclock my laptop, namely, to install an SSD in it.
Machine - MacBook Pro MD101 (mid 2012) with 8GB on board and 500gb HDD
A couple of questions:
- What transfer speed limits can this machine have in order not to overpay for nothing for SSD?
- Which SSD to take to combine with HDD and use a bundle in a fusion drive? (Will the Kingston SSDNow A400 (SA400S37/240G) fit?)
- In which slot should I put the SSD in the end, in the slot of the main / native drive or in Optibay and instead of cd-rum?

Any SSD will work in the 12 year model (at least I have not seen incompatibility on this poppy, unlike older models of 9-10 years), the speed limit is the speed of the Sata 3 bus. Moreover, the drive port is also a Sata 3 bus. Therefore, it does not matter where to put the SSD. But it is better to leave the HDD in its original place, because this port is equipped with a shutdown system in case of strong shaking or vibration.
Put in the main drive slot. This SSD is more or less better than the Samsung 850 or Pro.
Ask on the thematic forums if the ssd macbook supports this model. I read somewhere that not all kinstons start up. Ideally, it was ssd from samsung to take, it seems to work fine with them, but I also advise you to clarify.
