Should I go into Enterprise development?

Hello. I want to go into backend development, so I study Java diligently, but as I understand it, Java is used only for Enterprise development. Is it true that working in Enterprise is a routine and boring job of rewriting old code? Maybe you should learn another backend programming language? What do you advise.

Once again, for the gifted - 80% of any development is a routine. If you want to be interesting, then it's probably better to rob banks

Most likely it will be a large system for the organization, which began to be written 5-10 years ago. The user is shown a bunch of different forms with data. The user enters something there, the data is processed, written to the database, begins to be displayed to another user, added to reports, exported to other departments.
New tasks constantly come to add such a field to forms, add more reports, group data by type, etc. There is a lot of work, it is stable and uncomplicated, and it pays well.

On the contrary, the most interesting, since the complexity of these projects is incomparably higher.
You will grow professionally very quickly, which will affect your salary.
But startups are Groundhog Day, where you constantly make new primitive projects.
Legacy is what they scored and where they once made the wrong decisions. Legacy can even be for a period of six months on a small project. Or maybe a project that started a long time ago in the enterprise, which will not be legacy.
In any case, since they scored on legacy, they usually don’t touch it, they just put a couple of weak developers there for support. The most important thing is not to fall into their ranks. The majority of developers are working on current projects of the company.
