Is it possible to connect an old laser printer to a Debian machine with an LPT to USB adapter?
I remembered the old laser printer HP LaserJet 4L, which was gathering dust in the pantry. Checked - works. Just refilled the cartridge. Now it was necessary to try to connect it to a machine with Debian, and which does not have LPT. There is an adapter. And he is a worker. Tested on a windows machine. I have registered on several debian forums. A couple of days have passed, and I have not received any letters to confirm my address. And without that, they won't let me ask a question there. It's some kind of universal conspiracy. So help out, if anyone knows how to deal with this?

Plug the adapter into Linux, do dmesg and see what happens. If the log shows that the kernel recognized the adapter chip and created a device (something like /dev/lp0), then you're in luck - configure CUPS, etc. If the device is not recognized, then you are out of luck)
