Is it normal for sound to wheeze on a laptop at 100% CPU load?

Suddenly, the sound began to screech terribly. A short googling led to the case when utorrent ate 100% percent. I checked the load - really to the maximum. I turned off utorrent, the load dropped to 20%, the sound leveled out. I have been using the laptop for a month now, I have not seen this yet, although utorrent is always in the background. I turned on utorrent, finished all downloads, the percentage is no longer tense, the sound is even.

It's just disturbing. Asus U31S, win7 home basic

This is normal for built-in audio cards, don't worry: they use CPU power to process information, since they don't have their own.

If under Windows - traditionally multimedia applications have a high priority, and the only thing that can stop them is drivers. For example, when I take out the network cable, the sound is interrupted for a fraction of a second (hello to the Indians who have twisted the network card driver). Apparently something similar happened to you.

Yes, I agree with the friend above - this is quite normal for a laptop. In addition to "hoarseness", cases of intermittent or even slightly "slow" playback are still possible. Still, a laptop is not a multimedia station.
