How to make a half slide?

How can I show half a slide? I use slick, but I can give advice on other sliders.

Plus a mechanism to hide the shadow when the last slide is reached:
UPDATE. Just needs to be tweaked if you want the shadow to reappear! Alas, there is no time to figure it out, but it is possible :))
