How to format a hard drive encrypted with veracrypt?

How to format a hard drive encrypted with veracrypt? There is a disk encrypted via veracrypt, there is a password to remove the encryption, but Windows 7 has crashed on this disk. I can’t install Windows, since it comes to choosing a hard one, it is not displayed. I've tried deleting the partition and re-creating it but to no avail. How can I solve this problem?

If the data is not needed, then in the Windows installer at the stage where the big "Install" button is, click "System Restore" below, start the console there and execute diskpart.
It contains the following commands:

list disk (чтобы увидеть весь список дисков)
select disk N (где N - номер вашего диска)
clean (можно clean all, но это будет долго)
After that, the disk will be seen as clean, if it is not visible again, then you probably have some kind of non-standard controller for which the Windows installer does not have drivers by default. However, in this case, diskpart most likely will not detect it either.

Via some Live-CD Linux, wipe it with dd.
If you didn’t use ATA protection, then it will work.

I did not understand how it " tried to delete the partition and re-create " if the " disk is not displayed "???
Let's start with finding out if the disk is visible in the BIOS during boot and in CMOS Setup.

You write that Windows has crashed, that the disk is not displayed, and that the recommendations above somehow do not help.
If possible, in order not to guess, connect the disk to a working computer, download R.tester: https://rlab.ru/tools/rtester.html and do a full write test (over the entire surface).
This will completely destroy the data on the disk, and will allow you to understand its state.
Additionally, after that you can do a full reading test. Their combination is a good drive test at home.
