It sometimes happens to me that when I click on a program or something else, it opens in a new way (another instance) ..
Example: I have a notepad open .. I click on it to expand it and another notepad opens in its place. And this is not only with notepad, I will click on an already open VSCode another one will open ..

I often use Alt + Tab between windows, but I don’t think that’s the point.
I also have CarambaSwitcher
running. Here with such parameters (screen) and it constantly disappears from sight somewhere in (Notification icons - where is the clock and language).
Maybe there is something wrong with him..?

This problem occurs somehow randomly, I can’t identify any pattern in this and the frequency, it happens well, maybe once every 2 hours .. Or even less.
And all this is eliminated if you press Alt + Shift + Esc then open the task manager.
Those. is eliminated, let's say I have a new launch when I click, and this will continue with all programs until I press the Alt + Shift + Esc key combination.

I bought a new optical keyboard..
And at one time I removed the CarambaSwitcher described in the question , but apparently not completely or one of its installed versions. I rarely restart my computer, usually it sleeps with me.
And then I began to notice that this bug appeared again, I thought, the keyboard is new, there can be no problems with this.
I looked in the task tray and I have CarambaSwitcher enabled .
This time I chopped it off and completely removed it from the PC. Having observed the absence of a bug for 2 weeks, I can say with confidence. It was all CarambaSwitcher 's fault, he is a BUG !
Switching was recorded in CarambaSwitcher by double pressing Left Shift.
Perhaps some troubles he has with Windows. I didn't study it. But as previously written in the answers, if you hold down the Left Shift and start clicking on the launch shortcuts for already open programs, new windows of those same programs will open.

Some mice, after a certain period of operation, also give a click. It looks like a hardware problem here.

Mice from Auchan always give out this double click for 100 rubles.
