How to choose the right SSD m2?

Good day!
On my mat. The board does not have a SATA 6Gbit / s port, but I want to install an SSD. Since the pcie 4x port is empty, I decided to buy an adapter for M2 SSD for it. Here is an adapter.
Since I don’t have much knowledge with this type of SSD, I want to consult, since they have different interfaces (SATA and PCIe). If I buy an M2 SSD with a SATA interface for this adapter, but as I understand it, it simply won’t start, or will it still start?

What's the problem?
Do you have any specific tasks that require such speeds?
As a rule, at home there is practically no difference between SATA 2 and 3.
Buy a regular SATA SSD, plug it into any SATA port on your board, and everything will work quickly and without problems.

there are 2 types of keys B and M, for sata and nvme drives, respectively, the key is a jumper \ gap on the contact plane. Your adapter for M key -> nvme drive. Also keep in mind that most likely if the mother does not support 6 Gb / s sat, then there will be no support for booting from nvme -> do not install OS on it
