Will the Macbook Pro 2012 be enough for the frontend?

Does anyone have experience with web development on a 13" Macbook Pro 2012 on i5-i7 and 8-16 GB of RAM?
I'm interested in how the development environment will (and will) rotate on simple projects: Avocode + Figma , Chrome+Safari (3-4 tabs each), IDE, gulp\webpack, screen sharing (!) in Skype\Discord
and later freelancing front-end

the thing that worries me the most about the 2-core processor is whether it will work fine with my list of tools running at the same time + screen sharing?

It's strange, but for me, where the figma is, my i7 7500 and 8 gigabytes of RAM can't cope if you open Photoshop in parallel, or if the laptop hasn't rebooted for 4-5 days ...
The percentage is not a problem here, but only the figma eats up 2-3 GB opera, photoshop wants about 2, + a couple of chrome tabs about 1500mb, where the rest is not known, but the fact that you need 16 gigs))

For three years I've been working on a firmware of the 14th year (i5, 2 cores, 8GB), but the front is not constant - more often the backend. At first it seemed that it was enough if you only run the necessary software (IDE, virtual machine, browser), now I realize that the resources of the machine greatly limit my capabilities. More often there is not enough memory, and in some tasks the CPU cannot cope. Building a front or running tests takes up all the resources; colleagues on wines or Linux machines of comparable cost perform these operations faster.

It will be possible to work, but mbp 13 "is rather a super-mobile option, suggesting the ability to work (fix the file a little, slowly recompile the project) from anywhere, including on the go, in the country, on the beach, etc. But You can’t call such work normal (comfortable), firstly, 13 "is just not enough, for IDE, for Flash, etc. Secondly, a very modest iron will impose its own limitations. It seems to me that it is better to look towards a 15" mbp with four cores and, if possible, 16GB of RAM - this is a completely different level of comfortable work with a slight loss in mobility

I used a MacBook Pro 2012 - everything slows down. And he took a MacBook Air 2017 to his wife - everything flies. Both have 8GB and Core i5. The only difference is in the storage system. The Air has an NVMe PCIe SSD.
When there is an SSD with an NVMe PCIe interface, you most likely will not notice a lack of memory. But if an old HDD is used, then this will become a real torture.

Used MBP 13' 2011, put 16GB of RAM in it and ssd. I bought a program to control the fans and it worked quite well, it only warmed up decently. Figma, Adobe XD, WebStorm (2 pieces), 2 iPhone emulators and a whole bunch of tabs in chrome. Most warmed up from chrome and emulators

With head. Worked for 5 years on MBA 13 mid-13 with two cores and 4GB of RAM.
But the SSD must be installed exactly. Or take from 2013 and newer

У меня макбук 12 года (13 дюймов, i5, 8гб оперативки, ssd). Если открыта фигма в браузере, в vs code запущен локальный сервер реакта и этот сервер открыт в хроме с девтулзой то мой мак конкретно так напрягается. Не могу сказать что работать невозможно, но явно заметно что ноутбуку трудно всё это крутить. + с полученным опытом я бы не брал рабочую машинку на 13 дюймов, слишком ужь это мало. Приходиться иногда для удобства подключать второй монитор, и вот для него мощностей явно не хватает. Опять же таки, я не говорю что это невозможно. Но покупая сейчас такую конфигурацию как у меня - грех надеяться более чем на годовую эксплуатацию. Я прекрасно понимаю мотивацию покупки сего девайса, так как прекрасно знаю цену моделей постарше, но я бы хорошо подумал прежде чем брать это ноутбук сейчас.

На SSD должен шевелиться нормально. 8Gb в макоси, как 16 в другой системе. Но это все пока не попробуешь топ-десктоп с кучей ядер и безлимитной разогнанной памятью.
Вообще современные ноуты это жесть, 16 памяти это уже сейчас впритык. И она 2400. Процы тротлят. Древний Эппл в этом плане не особо лучше (почти 10 лет прошло с тех пор как они были крутыми). Так, что в этом году нужно лучше выжидать или сидеть на подразогнаном десктопе.
