Wi-fi router ASUS RT-G32 Rev.B1 and Windows 7 x64

Greetings. I know that the router is far from the latest model and it would be time to change it, but can anyone come across and solve the problem?

The bottom line is this: downloaded from the office. Site the latest firmware, installed. Set up a connection with the Internet provider (beeline) via PPTP on the router. All. At first it worked well, but then, for some reason, the connection with the router (!) began to disappear stupidly, that is, 192.168.1.1 does not even respond via LAN (!!). Checked on Windows XP everything works fine, without interruption. I registered static ip for the host - it still does not help (disabled DHCP, etc.).

PS: after the connection disappeared, after a while it was restored in the same magical way (most often after Windows diagnostics)

Thanks in advance for your help!

@AbyssMoon

If everything works fine on another machine, maybe the problem is in the hardware of this machine, and not in the router and w7? Have you tried installing another network card?
At the very same router, everything works fine.
