Why is logging into the web so difficult now?
A typical vacancy for a layout designer position: HTML, CSS, JS basics, well, everything is clear here, this is the base, you need to know this by default. BUT + to this PHP, WordPress, MySQL, intermediate level of English, + one of the JS frameworks, and these are typical requirements for a junior / layout designer and most importantly, salary 6-8k UAH, I understand that not all at once, but when a cleaner and a security guard get at least 2 times more, it's very strange! And everyone wants you to come and immediately work hard without questions, no one wants to teach and is not going to, it’s almost impossible to get a raise, you have to work hard for bread for a year, and then, you see, they will raise your salary by $ 100. As a result, you have to work hard for 2-3 years to stop working for food. What's wrong with IT?

Hey Megalexandros.
The question is fire. Very up to date.
Recently I watched a recording of the report "History of front-end development in Yandex for 10 years". At some point, the speaker said that in 2009 an ordinary layout designer could get into Yandex, without special knowledge of programming and algorithms. What actually happened to him, the speaker. And now, in 2019, the selection is much, much more difficult and he could only dream of being a front in such a company.
The first thought was - "He was lucky, he slipped into the sphere when it was easy, and I started late." But then I thought, "Are you sure it's easy?".
I've noticed that when comparing "then" and "now", many people balk at the requirements for starting positions. Like, earlier they demanded less from a junior, but now there is a whole LIST of skills. But at the same time, they miss the point that it was MUCH more difficult to gain knowledge earlier in order to "enter it".
Previously, only offline courses (in big cities) and reference books with problem books were available. To help only thematic forums and articles from habr.
Now there are online simulators (web and applications), webinars, mentoring, online courses, Toaster :). The “enter it” business, no matter how much they scolded it, has generated a huge number of information sources (telegram and youtube channels, news sites, podcasts, etc.). And all this with content for both beginners and experienced people. If you want to watch, read, listen.
Of course, I want to say to all this that "before, only "HTML, CSS, JS", but now you need to know the zoo of technologies !!!"
But in fact, "HTML, CSS, JS" remained the same, everything else is tools to prepare this very "HTML, CSS, JS" more efficiently and with better quality. Libraries, preprocessors and frameworks are a thrill. And if it’s hard to enter, it means that you still don’t know the basics well.
Right now, the only real new challenge is choosing a stack. You need to clearly understand what you want to do - make websites and pull them on CMS or make web applications / services. These are two very different stacks. An experienced web developer can own two at once, a beginner never.
It was always hard, only the accents shifted.
Complicated? Now?!
You should try in the 70s or at least the 90s.
Nothing strange, they know how to do their job and immediately benefit the company, and a june of two or three years will be almost useless and will leave the company in no less than half the case, making all the efforts invested in it a loss.
Business is not a school. Business needs to make money, not teach you.
For example, in medicine this period is 6-9 years.
Oh, and on Habrochka they write that it’s easy and salaries from 70k right away!
On the topic: dumping, strong competition, dumping, crowds of victims of white propaganda.
And yes, do not confuse the web with all IT, system administrators and devops have good salaries (devops have higher, of course) right away.
Why is entering IT so difficult now?
Why is IT better than other areas? The same is true for electronics engineers, the same for robotics for builders. If you have a device right away and also a decent salary, this is necessary for the troops (and even then not for all). Even the police do not immediately have a high salary. Each head in an IT company has relatives and friends and Zinka, whom he will attach (and not someone from the street) to all places where you can mow. And where you need to fumble - either come with experience or goodbye!
But the very fact when the vacancy is called "Layout Designer" and according to the requirements there as a full-fledged back + fron - infuriates.
Well, plus to this is the competition from the same smart people of different ages who decided that being an IT specialist is cool and comfortable. Does it make sense for an employer to give you 20K hryvnias if you have 10 people behind you who out of 1k will sit, just to have a chance to grow in the future?
Also, the question is a bit misleading. A better title would be: "Why is logging into the Web so difficult now?".
