Why doesn't Mac Mini 2012 give 2k resolution?
There is a Mac Mini 2012.
I punched through the serial, this model has the ability to issue 2k resolution. True, only through the MiniDisplay Port.
There is an AOC Q2778VQE monitor that produces this resolution without any problems when connected to a regular PC via HDMI.
Bought wires (though not expensive about 600r) MiniDisplay Port -> HDMI
Nothing works, only fullHD and that's it.
What could be the problem? Should I buy an expensive cord? Or the port on the mini is damaged? Or the monitor does not want to be friends. And how can this be verified? Thanks in advance for your replies.

That's right, the problem is in the cord, or rather in the adapter.
Your monitor already has a DP input, buy a normal mini dp->DP cable.
Support for 2k seems to have appeared in HDMI in version 1.4, and it’s not a fact that a monitor via HDMI will show something higher than FullHD (I came across such ones).
As an option, DVI but DualLink! since it has 2k support.
