How to make a USB HDD network?
Hello fellow toasters!
So, there are:
1) mac mini 2010 (3 x usb 2.0, 1xFirewire 800), connected via cable to the extreme router;
2) airport extreme (1xusb);
3) a pair of external hdd usb 3.0 2.5 "connected to the poppy mini, without external power;
4) macbook air (usb 3.0)
No:
1) money
Actually, what I would like is for the external hard drive to work most quickly over the network, so that it would really be possible to store on it a media library for Air, from iPhoto and iTunes, download torrents and watch full hd on macmini. The idea was to somehow attach hard drives to the macmini via a firewall, but the question is, is there a way to make it really work faster than 2.0, plus I still need another firewall in any way for an external sound card, that is, I need some kind of FW -hub (advise, if anything). Or somehow turn on the HDD in the router, but so that the speed is acceptable for movies on a poppy mini. Tell me, are there any chances to do something for little money? :)
PS I don’t work on mini, I just use it as a server and a movie and music player, because it has a firewall, and I have a good firewall sound.

There are 2 poppies, but no money? Somehow strange ...
Buy a router for 3 thousand rubles somewhere with a built-in usb port and a network storage function. Plug it in and everything works out of the box. Create 2 networks home and guest and guests will not be able to access it. Everything.
An external screw to the router will be even worse in speed than directly connecting via usb to mac mini.
The best option, as I see it, is to install another screw instead of dvd as described here:
