3ds Max

Why does the scene lag and load in 3Ds max for a long time?

Good day dear toasts (well, we're in the toaster)!
There is a scene where there are only 100,000 polygons and 250,000 vertices. There
are 60 objects on it, about +- 60-70 materials.
The mesh is simply terrible (actually, this is what I need the model for, I need to remodel everything again)
The size of the entire model is about 3000x1000 units

The problem is this:
This scene opens for about 3 minutes
. And while editing, the max sometimes freezes and an error crashes with the backup!
Why can this happen? Previously, scenes opened scenes of 500-700k polyks and it was normal!
On what can the long launch and freezes depend on!?
When starting the scene:
Vidyaha plows by 30%
Processor by 90-96% (I'll write about it below)
8-9GB of RAM is loaded
Virtual memory is more than enough
while SSD costs

PC characteristics:
Gf 1050ti 4gb OC
FX-8350 (8 cores) 4ghz
RAM 24GB
For some reason, the processor is almost 100% full! What can load the scene like that? After all, she is so mega powerful ...

@ehs

I won’t say why, but you can try to reset it by exporting and re-importing through some kind of primitive format, such as .3ds or .obj at the very least.
