Which SSD is suitable for Macbook Air and how to replace it correctly?

DD. There are two MacbookAir 2012 and 2013.
1.
At about the same price, you can take one for 1TB, and the second for 500GB:
Samsung 860 EVO 1TB - M.2 SATA
Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280
According to https://everymac.com/mac-ssd -storage-upgrade-guide...

then Samsung 860 EVO - SATA is enough for 2012, but for 2013 it's better to install Samsung 970 EVO - PCIe?
Or is it better to put Samsung 970 EVO on both? Will there be a difference in 2012? Maybe in 2013 there won't be much difference if you install Samsung 860 EVO?)
2. Did you read somewhere that there are nuances with AHCI with SATA? I thought on both just cut the trim and that's it.
Or is there something else?
3. Both need an adapter from apple greed, can you advise some? Ali has a lot, but as I understand it, too, with nuances, they write that only B or M, etc. if someone already has experience, then I will be glad, otherwise I will have to wait two or three weeks for parcels for each adapter
4. what to do with old disks? do they have similar connectors? is there any adapter for simple SATA? I thought about throwing it on a relatively old PC to start working faster, but there is only SATA
Thanks in advance
