Which engine to choose? We are a studio, we mainly create stores, landing pages. We need a modern, good engine. Yuzali before this CHOP CMS. Now we need a more advanced solution. We do not want Bitrix, Zhumla, WordPress.
What do top studios use?

Self-written CMS based on frameworks.
1. Infinite flexibility.
2. Many good specialists.
3. Specialists are easy to replace.
4. Minus: specialists are a couple of times more expensive (not an exaggeration) than those who use Bitrix, Zhumla, WordPress .

It was for stores that we wrote our own - minicart.su - a demo, and before that we used opencart and presta - but both turned out to be very confused, and Bitrix is not suitable because we work in the price category up to 100 tr, and there is nothing on Bitrix drank.
They advise well from above, use either your own engine - maximum flexibility and ease of finishing for the client, or frameworks.
But, before writing your own, I recommend thinking 10 times, it took us 2 years and a lot of effort.

Frameworks (will be more serious than Bitrix).
Bitrix (you need to take into account not only what you want, but what the client wants. Bitrix is one of the few systems that does not need to be "sold" to the client, because they know or even ask for it)
Wordpress (for small and not very business cards. With additional fields, 90% of sites can be made with custom post types and taxonomies)
For landing pages, something very simple is needed, even with a front-end editor, it is desirable that the client not be tormented by difficulties. I can't tell you about engines.
