When watching a video, the processor is loaded?

I have an RX 570, which I successfully installed in the PC and installed the drivers (the newest + adrenalin 2020)
Everything is connected well, it works in resource-intensive tasks and it can be seen, but when watching a regular video when I set 1440p and higher (youtube) strong lags begin and the processor starts to load (jumps up to 100 and decreases).
It seems that the video card is responsible for video processing, but why then is the processor loaded and the video lags?

@antonwx

chrome://flags/#d3d11-video-decoder - to the "Enabled" position
If it doesn't help, install the h264ify plugin or any other that can switch YouTube videos to H264 format.

In general, video playback is a load on the processor, there is nothing to load the video card with.
Although modern codecs allow you to transfer part of the load to the video card if you enable this option.

Install a set of third-party codecs, such as the K-Lite Codec Pack.

If the video card does not support hardware decoding of a particular codec, then the entire load goes to the processor. codecs are different.

use the VLC player and browser extension (Chrome or Firefox) "Open in VLC™ media player". The load on the processor will drop 10 times.
