What will replace the HDD with an SSD on a MacBook Air?

Hello. The MacBook Air lags a lot. It's already, well, old - 2009. I'm sitting on El Capitan and it often happens that the interface starts to lag hard. Or I watch a video and after about 5 minutes it just starts to take out the brain - the sound goes on, but the picture stands still. Since it's an Air, I can't add more RAM, but what about an SSD? Will such lags disappear when replacing the HDD with an SSD? Thank you.
UPDATE: I'm unsubscribing. I installed Yosemite, the speed of work increased noticeably

@irain

You can change, it will become noticeably better, but you should not expect a miracle.
