Macbook Air or Pro for UI designer and web developer?
I'm thinking about buying a mac, but I have a choice between air / pro , I'm
considering options from the store and
what to use for (so as not to slow down):
photoshop, sketch, illustrator - design of application interfaces, sites, etc. - can reach up to 50-60 artboards. For axure rp prototypes. HTML, CSS, SASS, Js, Bootstrap. Browser. As for programming, for now I choose python, ruby on rails. But it is in the plans. Also, the development of not complex applications for android (android studio) and xcode / swift up to 10-20 screens maximum, as a beginner so far.

Take PRO 2012 with the minimum configuration (you can also buy a new one, it costs almost the same as AIR 13).
1 - Upgrade memory to 16GB and SSD.
2 - either immediately install only an SSD (everything will work noticeably faster even without a DDR update).
The car will be Pro, nimble, but without retina. However, what I like about this solution is that you will have an optical drive (in the latest versions, especially in airs, they are not), where you can put another disk in the future.
Further, retins cannot upgrade anything except SSD (drr is impossible), but a disk for them will cost more (there is such a board, not an ssd in plastic, which is expensive).
Better Pro, for professional development.
But you've put something together here: design, layout, code... Are you a jack-of-all-trades?
If so, then becoming a super pro in all these areas is impossible.
Choose one direction and become a professional there.
Explore the rest of the areas in order to know and be aware.
it doesn't matter - both machines are nimble - air is probably kayfovey
the main thing is that the latest version of the system is supported
I work on a poppy ten years ago - enough for web programming
for photoshop, illustrator - you need an external monitor
I'll add my five cents.
I don't know how others are doing with development, but in my work I often use photoshop layouts with a lot of layers, masks and other husks. I've been using a Mac Pro for 15 years and sometimes I don't have enough productivity to edit them. The rest of the software does not eat a lot of resources. There is also about 8 years, for today's tasks it is already noticeably slowing down and not used, it went out of use a couple of years ago.
In general, the key factor in your choice is the budget, take the best possible car that you can afford. The quality of materials and design solutions will allow you to use a laptop for a very long time and in a couple of years (perhaps) you will not regret that you invested a little more money in the purchase than you planned.
