What's the point of using PayPal?

I have a card with ruble currency. I need to transfer and purchase abroad (online) where nat. USD currency, PayPal will take a commission from me for the conversion and I will lose 4% of my money, is it possible to transfer somehow without a commission? The card has a 1% international transfer fee, what's the point of using PayPal then?

Do not turn on the conversion, let it be on the side of the bank.

For example, pay for hosting and not show your card details

PayPal is used for security reasons not to trust your card details.
When buying, you can choose who will be converted by your card bank or PayPal
. For frequent purchases, get a multi-currency or dollar card at the bank.
In PayPal, you can link a card with a dollar account, call the call center and they will change the currency of the card to USD and there will be no conversion.
