What's going on with the file system?

Hello, I’ll go right to the heart of the problem, this is the second time I’ve had problems either with the file system or with the disk.

  • After each reboot of the system, programs from startup sometimes start up, sometimes they don’t
  • does not want to install various things (tried to install global node modules and separately python, writes - writing error, can not get access to file, after piercing the retry button - installs)
  • sometimes it happens that I reload and the browser cannot load the cache, the cache itself is there, but the browser just freezes and does not want to work further, I have to delete it.
Previously, I fixed it simply by reinstalling Windows, but this problem overtook me again, the only thing that happened this time, and this time, was that the computer was in sleep mode before the error appeared, I doubt that this affects something, but it doesn’t less.

Download Victoria and check your hard drive. Preferably from a boot disk/flash drive, but a general analysis can also be carried out from under Windows. Just read the manuals before use, so as not to run a read / write test that will overwrite all the data on the hard drive.
Well, you can also look at the Windows event log to determine what the problem is.

Check the disk for bad blocks.

First of all, you need to check the screw using the Crystal Disk Info utility , if there are a lot of bad sectors, then you can prepare for the fact that the screw does not have long to live. If there are only a few pieces, then try one of the options:

  • You can try to reinstall Windows on another logical partition, I had such nonsense on the old screw. There were 2 sections, one of them stopped responding and slowed down the computer.
  • You can run CHKDSK /F /R , if I'm not mistaken, it will try to repair bad sectors. If it is likely that chkdsk will fail, then try running it again. In the case of Victoria, you can only aggravate everything if you do not use it correctly.
