What questions to ask the customer?

Tomorrow is a meeting with a client, the amount is not small for the project. I have been communicating with customers for a long time and fulfilling them, but here you need to show professionalism. The customer wants a turnkey website. He knows that I am an individual (not a company) that I have freelance guys. So, what are the right questions to ask so that later there are no incidents?

You need to show professionalism. Professionalism is a confident possession of the issue, responsibility for the result, customer orientation, reproducibility / repeatability of a qualitative result.
Until the end of the project, you can only create the appearance of professionalism, and its real assessment will be after the completion of the project.
To create the appearance of professionalism, you need to:
1. speak confidently
2. listen, not impose
3. demonstrate a confident command of production technology
4. talk about problems and methods for solving / eliminating them
5. defend your interests
Discuss with the client the entire technology for the production of his product, identify risky stages, and offer options for reducing risks at all stages. Share the risks with the customer, you will not be able to influence some moments, clearly say about it - if you need a result, then invest with us, otherwise nothing will come of it.
When the customer understands the proposed technology, understands that you know it perfectly, that you know all the subtle places and pitfalls (that is, you have done it many times) - then you will create the appearance of your professionalism.

The main thing is to behave confidently)
Ask leading questions, such as:
- Show examples of work that you like
- Are there any preferences for color schemes?
If they answer you: "it's fine, as long as it's cool" - warn that your "cool" may differ from his concepts of "cool"
The main thing is to try to knock out as much information from him and show interesting works on his subject
. I just had such an experience :
1. I asked leading questions
2. I got the answer: "you are an artist - so draw, if only it was cool"
3. I drew a beautiful design (primary colors are dark, everything is flat. The layout, in general, was really cool)
4. Showed layout - I was sent to the "confidant", to the manager.
5. Made up, screwed the code, uploaded it to the server.
6. I came to show the result and pick up the rest of the cache - they told me that the site was too dark, just like a "funeral home
" just like kindergarten."
8. Somehow I endured the edits for a month, in the end they gave the rest of the money.
In the end, the deadline was postponed by a little more than a month at the initiative of the customer. Consequently, I also sat without money for a little more than a month.
On this, it is better to agree immediately

ask those questions, the answers to which will help you in the conduct of his project. Well, draw up a detailed contract, sort out the TK on the fads. Don't be lazy, it will save more time in the future.
> the amount is not small for the project.
it doesn't matter if you want to "appear professional" because you get paid a little more than usual, then you should not change your behavior in any way, it will look unnatural. Better just become professionals in the development of projects for any amount :)
