What monitor size is best for a developer?

Good afternoon. Decided to upgrade my 19" to something bigger (maybe I'll put the old one next to me). I choose between 24" and 27". work at the table, will it cause discomfort?

There is no way to go to the store and feel the possibility, therefore I ask for advice from those who have tried it.

upd. The resolution in any case will be 1920 px on the larger side (16:9 for 27", for 24 either 16:10 or 16:9). (Web) I don't design and I never play with toys.

Now I have 19 "1280x1024, that is, 86.3 PPI and it suits me. Most monitors on sale have a resolution of 1920x1080. That is, 21.5" will definitely be too small for me. At 24 "the picture will seem even a little smaller (91.8 PPI) than what I have now,

It is better to take 16:10 - it will be more convenient when writing code than with 16:9.

for me - definitely at least 2 monitors, better wider. Here just now they offered one monitor, it seems to be 32 inches or something like that, but this is too much, IMHO, better than 2-3 22-24-27", as for me ...

Saw recently SyncMaster with such resolution. IMHO you won't like 1920px on the larger side at 27'', it's somehow quite small, you'll have to put it far. I would take 22-24. Well, or 27 with 2560 × 1440 (it seems to be not much more expensive): I took this for myself, it’s convenient.

In fact, it all depends on the DPI of the screen. For example, I'm more comfortable working behind a 24" monitor with Full HD than at 27". If the resolution of the second one is higher, then definitely 27.
Although I settled on the option of two monitors of 22 ".

I think you just need to try different options, if possible (although you wrote that it just doesn’t exist). I tried different diagonals, and as for me - the more, the better; 27" at work, 23" at home.
I know designers who claim that they are more comfortable working on 4:3 monitors, which personally puzzles me and breaks the template. Apparently, after all, this is purely individual and generally a matter of habit.

22-24" is the most for programming, IMHO (at 22 itself). More is not so convenient anymore. Well, you need a second machine, yes.

Worked since 1920 on 15.6, 17.3, 18.4, 22, 24 monitors.
15 and 17 - fine.
24 - large size, you have to turn your head a lot and crawl with your eyes - you get tired.
18.4-22 - it turned out to be optimal.
> That is, 21.5" will definitely be too small for me.
We would not be so unambiguous. Before we tried 1920 at 24", we also thought that 1920 should be no less than 24, but optimally at 27 ... practice has shown the opposite.

Listen, I wanted to order in Rozetka, but I found it in Comfy for almost the same price, + the store is not far from me, maybe I won’t even be too lazy to go. Does anyone happen to know if the prices in IM Comfy and offline are the same or cheaper in IM?

I am very pleased with my 19" 5:4. Unfortunately, they don't make them in a larger format, and with a higher resolution than my 1280x1024, they are already a bit expensive.
