Processor 2.4 GHz intel core i5
memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
graphics intel HD3000
OS X 10.9.1
Freezes. Works slowly. When working with XCODE in general flour.
What to do?

RAM is not enough, I set myself 16Gb and did not know grief. Before that, in xcode, if I went into the interface builder, I waited for 5-7 seconds for it to go to a new window, and if there is something complicated with a bunch of views, then you can wait a minute. Put the memory, since it is cheap and easy to change.

RAM would be better to buy more.
And from the means of local struggle - use in the terminal - sudo purge
This thing cleans the RAM and you will be as good as new until the memory gets full again ...
