Macbook pro: Red lines on external monitor on dark background?
Good afternoon.
Searching the net, I did not find anything like this, therefore I turn to the community, maybe someone has come across a similar one, and successfully solved it.
An external Dell LED 23' fullHD monitor is connected to the macbook pro via a mini-displayport->HDMI adapter. Periodically, on a black (dark) background, horizontal red stripes run through. Since the monitor is new, and I connected it for a couple of days, I sinned on the monitor, but ... I connected another computer, the Samsung 9th series, to the same monitor, in the same resolution, I tested it for half an hour, not a single strip appeared (Ubuntu). Therefore, the problem of the monitor disappeared. Then he sinned on cable pickups, laid out everything separately so that they would not intertwine with each other - the result is 0.
In principle, it manifests itself very strongly, for example, when watching movies, when opening iTerm2 in full screen (black background). Even if there is a black window that is not full screen, it is also sometimes noticeable.
I would welcome any thoughts and suggestions. But most of all I will be happy with those who will help solve this problem.

definitely a switch. The same garbage occurs with mini displayport to displayport. I would recommend taking a mini dsiplayport to dvi adapter
