www.notebook-center.ru/processor.html
here is the rating of calamus 2015, the processor is in 154th place, one and all claim that it is only for the Internet,
there is a laptop with a processor of 2010-2011, according to ratings it is somewhere around 315-320, you can code more or less normally, just if such a laptop as air is only for the Internet, then what is mine for? warm the tea? or I don’t take into account something, ssd RAM and so on is understandable ...

I work on macbook air mid 2013. Not everything is lightning fast, of course, there are only 4 gigabytes of brains, but there is enough for layout and drawing sites, 2-3 graphics editors, browsers, etc. are constantly open, periodically I get into a virtual machine with Windows for Corel Draw and another a virtual machine with an EDGE browser, you can also, in principle, use
you can code more or less normally, just if such a laptop as air is only for the Internet, then what is mine for? warm the tea?Yes, it does.
I'm doing
jscsshtmlphp programming on a mac mini 2006.
Core is not a duo, two gigabytes of RAM.
There are no problems other than the inability to watch full HD videos .
Well, it's one thing to work for four cores, with 32 gigs of RAM and ssd, and quite another for a single core with 4 gigs of RAM on a hard drive.
And there and there you can write great programs.
I remember the first feeling when I inserted 8 gigs of RAM into the computer, how divine it is, there was no paging file, there was enough memory for everything, the system responsiveness became a hundred times higher.
I experienced the same splendor when I inserted the first 30 gig ssd screw under the system, what a thrill, such a responsive system, it's something.
If you often do some kind of calculations, then a powerful percentage will allow you to do them ten times than some seedy one, imagine you will spend not 1 hour but 10 on a worthless stone.
Most tasks in development are not demanding on the processor. An exception, probably, only compilation. There's a noticeable difference there. When working with code, web development, or developing small applications that do not require compilation for half an hour, everything will work fine. But this is subject to a sufficient amount of RAM and SSD. With some 4 gigs of RAM and a regular laptop HDD, no Core i7 4 nuclear one will save, everything will lag. Macbook Air since 2013 is great for a wide range of development tasks, completely without brakes. But be sure to have at least 8GB of RAM. You can’t install it on Air anymore, but there is a Pro version with 16GB - I think this is the best option. the screen is also not unimportant, and on the Pro retina it is out of competition.
I work on macbook air mid 2012. I have never experienced problems in my tasks (Logic Pro, Final Cut, virtual machines with Windows servers). All problems always rested on the amount of RAM, the percentage never loaded above 50%
