What is the best way to move a virtual machine to another host?
Hello! What is the best way to move a virtual machine to another host?
There is a VM (ws2012R2) - two vhdx disks are connected. The second disk is large 400GB for files.
I tried the included virtual machine using Live Migration. the volume is large, the network is 100Mbps - I get an error.
Hosts under hyper-v server, control comes from client and Hyper-V Manager.
Actually the question is: how will it be correct to transfer the VM?
1) Turn off the VM and make a live migration.
2) Turn off the VM to make a backup (hvbackup) and deploy it on another host.
3) Make a VM export and import on another host.
Which way is more correct and less time consuming? Or your choice.
Thanks in advance!

Turn off the VM - this already excludes the "live migration". Normal migration will be performed.
What error do you get when doing the migration?
The best way is live migration, it is better to forget the second option right away
As already written, live migration is the easiest way. You only need to set up Kerberos delegation. Do you use MS VMM (everything is easier and more convenient there)?
