How to correctly configure linux for hyper-v with iSCSI?
Hello Khabrovites,
at work we are slowly moving linux machines from hardware to hyper-v datacenter edition in which all virtual machines are on iSCSI. There are no problems in normal mode.
Problems begin when iSCSI is cut off for 15 seconds - all linux servers fall into a coma, often breaking the file system (which, unfortunately, is XFS). In the same situation, windows servers do not experience any problems.
I have already tried to increase the timeout for disks in /sys/block/sd*/device/timeout, I did not notice any improvement. Help with advice: how to properly configure linux in this situation and which file system to choose so that it does not break so easily and data loss is minimal?

The timeout in ISCSI is controlled by the initiator (actually, he counts this timeout) - so you have to turn around in the Windows area.
Linux has its own timeout before the start of pornography in dmesg (120s), as far as I know, it cannot be changed (you can only turn it off). How paravirtualized hyper-v disk drivers behave in such conditions is a separate issue.
