What happened to the Toptal post?

More recently, an article was published on Habré " You are a freelancer and you are tired of sharing Kuso with Indians ... ", which went to the very top. Now you can see that the article is hidden, and the author has been switched to read-only mode. Particularly “pleasant” is the fact that over a hundred comments on the hidden topic were lost because of this. Does anyone know what happened?

Maybe competition with freelansim.ru. But somehow this kind of struggle with competitors looks somehow naive and clumsy these days. Maybe the author just used an obscene word, or maybe he blasphemed Lebedev. Or power.

I just looked through this article and the comments in the Google cache again - I don’t see any violations of any Habr rules point-blank. It is interesting, by the way, whether an attempt to understand which particular habr rule was violated by the author of this article falls under the rule “it is forbidden to discuss the rules of the site and the actions of the administration aimed at observing them.”

The article was not in the "I'm PR" hub, but it looks just like an exemplary article from this hub.

if I'm not mistaken, the author of the post mentioned some cool freelance exchange with a high entry threshold and that there are strict rules regarding reviews, the only thing that can be imagined is that the habra administration has some kind of connection with this service and the author apparently did something not so why he snatched ridonly

They decided to delete the habrahabr post for reasons that are not entirely clear. We haven't quite figured it out yet. The administration of the resource seems to have decided that the post is advertising, although the author of the post wrote it on his own initiative, having passed our selection and, apparently, wanting to share it with the community. Toptal did not ask the author of this post about this, nor similar posts that are written by developers who joined us around the world in other languages.
PS To avoid rumors and rumors, I'm ready to answer "first hand" any other questions you may have regarding Toptal, both as a developer and as a recruiter ([email protected] / skype - pavlovdmitry).
Update (2015-06-15): Read more about Toptal remote work for programmers on the Payoneer blog.
