What datastorage to build for esx?

Hello!
There is a kitchen garden from 5 ESX hosts. At the moment, each host has 2 HDDs and 2-3 SDDs.
We plan to cut the garden down to 3 fat hosts that will use one datastorage.
There is no money for expensive solutions with FC, I want to build storage for 200-300 VMs at minimal cost (80% of which are idle for the needs of the testing department).
We look towards iSCSI, but the 10 GBe solution bites a lot. Yes and no confidence in the performance of NAS or iSCSI (we expect 300-400 MB / s)

Hey! If I understand the question correctly, you need to allocate a couple of servers from the server park for a data storage system. Now I use a similar solution, though there is only one server for storage (a jbod disk shelf for 12 disks is connected to it) 3 servers with esxi are connected via ISCSI. For some time I tried to use freenas on it, but as the load increased, problems appeared, I switched to Starwind (the free version was enough for me) and there have been no problems for more than a year. In the paid version of Starwind, it is possible to combine several servers into a failover cluster and use the cache in RAM (only 512 MB in the free one).
