What can be read on parallelism and transactions?
Friends, good evening.
Please tell me what you can read / see about transactions / locks / etc, in order to enter into their application in practice (in addition to the mysql manual, of course). To discuss questions like this habrahabr.ru/post/137979 or this habrahabr.ru/post/238119/. I read old topics on phpclub in my free time, however, this is not enough for a complete understanding.
Something about parallel programming in *nix for beginners will also do to broaden their horizons - about processes, daemons, deadlocks, and so on. It's impossible to be more specific about what I want.
Thank you for your advice.

The second item reminded me of "Seven Models of Competition and Concurrency in Seven Weeks" and "QNX/UNIX Anatomy of Concurrency".
