What books on mathematics (textbooks, reference books, problem books and popular science) in Russian and English did you like the most, what can you recommend? In particular, the following sections are of interest: general and linear algebra, analytic geometry, mat. analysis, discrete mathematics and its sections, probability theory and statistics, numerical methods, optimization. Preferred response format: title, author, edition and its merits, for which you liked it.

Handbook of Mathematics, A.A. Ryvkin, A.Z. Ryvkin, L.S. Khrenov;
and of course Vygodsky for all time.

The Logic Game, Lewis Carroll (yes, the same mathematician and author of Alice in Wonderland);
Martin Gardner - any of his books you can find, he's great.
