Three monitors on a PC using two graphics cards?

There is a standard PC, three multi-format monitors with DVI, VGA and HDMI connectors.
It is necessary to connect monitors, while the task is not to duplicate, but to expand the desktop.
Games are not planned, only video editing, processing....
As far as I understand, finding a video card is unrealistic, it's easier to install two.
Question: is it possible to install different cards (Nvidia and AMD Radeon) or do you basically need the same ones?
PS: I tried to put Nvidia and AMD Radeon on the mother - one of the cards in the Windows Device Manager is stupidly not displayed and that's it ...
