The computer does not see network cards

I got a computer from the previous administrator.
I won’t say for iron, normal, desktop.
Worth windows2003.
There is one problem: it does not see network cards, i.e. he sees them, but the drivers are not installed.
It would be nice to have one card, otherwise I have already tried 3 of them, according to the previous admin, he tried a few - he sees, but does not install the driver.

I found the latest option - a network card in a box, and lo and behold! Disc included.
I put it - in the dispatcher it says: This device cannot be started (Code 10)

What to do? My head is already spinning, I don't know which side to approach.

Is it your question by any chance ?
Here is a recommendation from the same place:
1. Right-click on my computer
2. Device Manager
3. look for a non-working or poorly working device and delete it (do not forget to check the box “along with the driver” if there is one)
4. action -> update hardware configuration
5. we install the driver through the dispatcher, NOT THROUGH THE EXE file of the firewood.
This means that in the window that appears, we search for drivers for the device (we indicate in which folder the firewood is located)

In general, I installed another screw, XP on it - the same story.
Apparently the problem is deep in the gland. Resetting bios didn't help :(

Offtopic, but why poke around in the OS on someone's computer? Well, this is not a server (and on servers, as a result, you often have to do this), take it down and put it back on, a lot more can come out on the little shit.

During the demolition of Kaspersky, there was a similar problem, is it the reason?
