Someone can give advice on Computational Linguistics for self-development?

Description of the situation:
On the eve of the bachelor's degree. There is still time to explore more interesting areas in IT. While I am engaged in iOS development and mastering Python. I am also interested in German studies. Last year, the topic of speech synthesis and voice data processing was very interesting. All my interests / hobbies and technical skills are united by such a fresh science as Computational Linguistics.
AND?
Found a program at the Higher School of Economics. I wrote there and am waiting for a reply. At this stage, I am still programming in Swift / Objective-C, Python and mastering algorithms with data structures. And now I think: while there is time, why sit in your free time? The information on this science is exhaustive, so so far I have found courses on machine learning and neural networks.
Essence of the question?
All this is great, but I would like to see mentors who could advise a more structured approach to self-learning Computational Linguistics. Maybe there are specific things (technologies / theory) that I should pay attention to now? Or just advice from competent people in this field would be very helpful!
PS Since I'm a techie, so far I'm focusing on technical details. I think I will delve into the theory of language directly in the magistracy.
