Upwork
buzzkirill, 2022-02-25 07:22:59

[Russia] Upwork pays VAT, but will I still need to pay VAT for the money I earn there? So?

Subject. The question may be stupid, but I want to clarify for myself with 100% crystal clarity.

spoiler

@kawabanga

1) 20% off 20% - This is a Google tax. A whim of Russia.
2) When you earn $500 with a customer, the commission already becomes 10%.
3) Commission when transferring to Paypal 1$; $75. - and with $100 and with $5000, understand?
4) Currency conversion when transferring from Paypal to a bank - about 4%.
There is a simpler scheme - you can send rubles to a Russian bank.
And now the scheme is more interesting -
1) You have earned $3000 with one customer.
2) Of these, you paid (500 * 0.2) + (2500 * 0.2) = $ 600
3) Next, you make a swift transfer for 30 bucks to your bank account and get 2370 dollars
4) Next, pay a tax of 4 or 6% depending on status of your customer. $143. Total in your hands
2230 bucks. Then withdraw them through the exchange with minimal losses.
Now repeat the same trick but with 3000 the first time and 3000 the second.
And now repeat this trick if you initially have 6000 on your account and need to withdraw.
It's just that upwork is not a platform for short orders, here people make $50k for one contract, And they pay good specialists extremely well.
