Elance blocked the account, how to solve?
Hello!
I got into a shitty situation.
Elance blocked the account for verification (they do not allow to make a withdrawal and bid on other projects), as a result of which they asked for confirmation of my ID and confirmation of my work (screenshots, etc.). All communication was carried out through VK.COM, and not through Elance, but the hours were set through WorkView (ess, but with screenshots).
I went through all the steps that the Risk Management Team required of me, but now they require ME to verify my client's ID. I do not understand what I have to do with the client, and how can I make him do it.
It was a long-term contract and the funny thing is that I was blocked only after the client made a payment for the last month (for all the previous months I easily withdrawn money) and marked the work as 'completed'.
It turns out that I am suspected of something, but they do not say what. My question was answered like this:
"Thank you for contacting Elance. Our system has detected overlaps between your account but I cannot disclose further details on that. Once you and your client has completed the ID verification, we will review your account for reinstatement. At this time, we haven't received a reply form your client. You are free to remind your client to respond to our message."
As a result, now I sit without money and work. The last month, it turns out, worked for free.
Who faced a similar situation, tell me how you got out of it and what you can think of to take YOUR money from them?
PS Googled and found these resources:
elanceclassaction.com
https://twitter.com/stopelance
Apparently, this crap happens not only with me, and Elance is preparing a class action lawsuit in the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission.
It is very likely that on the sly, while Elance is closing, they want to balance the balance at the expense of freelancers.

No
country manager can help. Talk to the client and ask him to verify.
Elans does not close, but simply rebranded after apparently buying clothes for many millions of dollars
. Nobody needs your pennies there.
Basically everything is unlocked. I had to strain the client so that he also went through all these procedures. Apparently they suspected me of cheating ratings, or that I was logging in to other accounts (the customer is from the same country as me, maybe their GeoIP bases are crooked).
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I understand them, but on the other hand, it’s somehow not comme il faut to lock freelancer’s money. If someone has loans hanging, then it won’t take long to fly in, while Elance employees will show a poker face and add that “We understand you, but we can’t help you in any way.”
Well, maybe for Elance, yes, but for me, 2K$ is not quite a penny, so it’s all somehow sad.
