Replacing HDD with SSD iMac 21.5-inch, Late 2015?

Hello!

All work with the hard drive is terribly slow. Even just opening a folder is a complete horror. I want to replace the HDD with an SSD. on iMac 21.5-inch, Late 2015. I found out the nuances in a couple of offices, they say that all data will have to be erased and everything needs to be reinstalled Mac Os, do you think this is normal? Who has had experience of such work, please tell me the features or nuances that are worth paying attention to. I would be very grateful to you! I'm attaching Mac's description.

I would recommend making 2 backups on a time machine
1 completely system 2 your documents in a readable form, that is, just
folders with files
