Remote workers -> Successful company = possible?

Does anyone know a well-known IT company whose developers are all remote

PS.
a team in one room and a management office in another - this is not the case.

I am interested in the option when all the employees are in different premises, roughly speaking at home, and the company basically has no offices. It happens?

It seems that the developers of basecamphq.com (37signals) are also the creators of RoR. That's how they work.

In addition to well-known companies, we work this way (www.habrahabr.ru/company/roundlake).
We have a significantly distributed team - people create in remote cities of Russia, various CIS countries, Europe, the USA and even Thailand. Efficient work is achieved thanks to flexible methodologies (Agile/Scrum), very high professional level of our colleagues, motivation for results and continuous development, interesting tasks and other conditions specific to our company – they are, perhaps, unique for a Russian company.
One of our internal directions is to create co-working spaces around the world. Comfortable workspaces where you can create great things, communicate with professionals of your own work and play consoles with each other. These co-workings are designed for our employees, colleagues, partners, friends of the company and even customers. It is in this atmosphere that the most interesting ideas are often born. But we are still faced with the fact that people still do not go to co-working. We will actively work on this. I'm sure Chuck will help us - i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o573/_xternal/73d1be7b.jpg :)
In the future, we will build such centers not only for "our own", but also for people who develop technologies around the world, but do not have proper support. This is a separate and very deep topic, so I will not be scattered. :)

I would only meet with boo in person or hire a firm.
Everything is possible and everything works.

I work for SpamExperts B.V. The founders and headquarters are located in Holland. Developers, managers, administrators, technical support - in Mexico, England, Romania, Russia, New Zealand. The scope of the company, I would say, is quite specific, but in its own circles it is a well-known and respected IT company. So the answer is yes, definitely it is possible.

I probably did not put it correctly:
the team is in one room and the management office is in another - this is not the case.
I am interested in the option when all the employees are in different rooms, roughly speaking at home, and the company basically does not have an office. It happens?

We worked like that, sat at home. This celebration of life lasted for about a year, then they rented their first office.
