Recommend a RAID controller for ESXi 5.x or 6?

There is an old R-Style Marshall NP2112 server (S5520UR motherboard , 24 GB of memory on board, QLogic SP232 (FibreChannel 4 Gb/s) adapter).

There is a need to upgrade the disk subsystem and increase the amount of memory to use as a virtual host running ESXi 5.x or 6.x

In this regard, questions
1. Recommend a RAID controller. Plan to use SATA 6Gb (or SAS) drives in RAID 10 + hot spare
2. Recommend fast and reliable drives. The current need for disk space is 1.5-2TB.
3. Maybe you should buy a used FC storage and connect via FC?
