The VMWARE virtual machine is not available when the main machine connects to the VPN. How to fix?
There is a virtual machine on vmware fusion (everything works on a poppy). The network adapter is configured for NAT. SAMBA is configured on the virtual machine, virtual machine disks are available from the main machine.
BUT... if I connect the main machine to the VPN, the virtual machine via SAMBA becomes inaccessible.
When accessing the Internet on the main and virtual machines, one IP. Without connecting to VPN - normal, after - the one that provides VPN.
Is there any way to defeat this? Alas, I am not strong in network wisdom (((
Thank you.

I'm not strong in MacOs, but there are questions:
1) Does the NAT subnet for the VM accidentally intersect with the VPN?
2) You can try in the VPN settings (I don’t know where in MacOS) uncheck "Use this connection as the default gateway"
But the best solution:
Make a trace to the ip-address of the virtual machine BEFORE connecting to the VPN and AFTER.
You will see which route before and after your computer tries to reach the VM
