If there is money for a double volume (that is, we buy 2 SSDs, in fact we have the volume of one) - then why not. RAID1 will protect against a disk failure situation - you just threw out the dead one and went to buy a new one, users are working at that time, they didn’t even notice anything (in the same situation without RAID - you went to buy a new one, then started deploying backups - and that’s all this time users are playing kerchief).
BUT: RAID is not a backup!
Software RAID loads percent. It does not affect the speed of work. Hardware RAID does not load percents - it has its own, but it costs money.

It's just that the last Windows 2008 R2 crashed without a backup, and even on a WD Purple bay. The health of the hard drive is excellent, but they advised to put it on a server SSD, while taking 2 500 GB each and making RAID 1 (but software), only for the Windows system and the programs installed on it. But the speed will be during the raid? better than just a WD HDD
And won't a software raid have a strong effect on this type of processor?

Of course do. And personally I am for software. Tk if anything, you can plug the disk into another PC, and in most cases Windows will work on it.
