How to correctly organize RAID 1 using different disks?

Decided to do a little upgrade on my favorite laptop. I bought an SSD and will install Windows 10 LTSB. It is important for me not to lose a single byte of information that has been collected bit by bit over the years. Friends advised me to install RAID 1. As a result, there is a built-in 500 GB HDD and an external 1 TB HDD (connected via a USB 3.0 cable), and I will reinstall Windows on an SSD.
Tell me, with such a scheme, is it possible to organize RAID 1 so that the information is simultaneously on the built-in disk of the laptop and on the external HDD? I would be eternally grateful for any advice and links on this topic.

Oh, those boys who look like girls.
On this topic; You can do it, yes, but what's the point? So you disconnected the external drive and the data is already different and you need to update it.
So do not suffer from nonsense, it is better to make backups to your external drive.

The laptop BIOS does not know how to hardware RAID, therefore, software RAID is needed - and it is only in win 10 pro / corp editions, and most likely will not work until the kernel is loaded - that is, a boot partition is needed, which creates an additional perversion.

then set up backups from the disk to another location, for example, to another disk. RAID is not about the safety of information, but about minimizing downtime.

raid is not about data safety, but about availability - so that it would be possible to work if one or more disks fail (depending on the configuration). You need regular backups.

Raid will not work in this configuration. And if you manage to get it, it will constantly fall apart and only threaten the safety of the data.
Options:
regular synchronization of data on hard drives. I don't have any suggestions, unfortunately. Just remember that in the old days, Windows had standard software (portfolio) ..
Synchronization with a cloud service. A lot of them. There are those who offer impressive volume.
Well, my choice is a home cloud. There are already from casual ready-made solutions to self-assembled nas

It is immediately clear that your friends clearly do not understand what they are talking about.
You need a backup.

Can.
