Suggest backup software
Good evening
Tell me a program for Windows for mirror backup / synchronization of folders. Preferably with compression, but simple duplication will do.
Now I use Acronis True Image for backup of disks and folders. But for folder backup, it doesn’t suit me:
- if you use a backup with 1 copy, then for the function to work, you need 2 times more free space when creating a backup (the old version is deleted after a new one is created) + every time a copy of everything is created. I have about 200-250GB of training data alone;
- if you use an increment, then the volume of one copy grows greatly due to intermediate versions that I do not need.
I would like a program that will check for changes in the source and synchronize backup with them. Also, I don't want to torment the disks with constant backups of full versions. 1 of the disks (wd10ezrx) died after 1.5 months of work as a backup source.
Thank you.

Here is an overview of a number of programs: www.3dnews.ru/634640
Of these, I used GoodSync for a long time.
Then I switched to Acronis TrueImage, it is faster, because it does not scratch everything file-by-file, but “licks” the image of the selected data. But in your case, this is really long, although file-by-file comparison will probably not be faster either.
Do all folders change constantly?
Maybe just make archive folders in which nothing is added
. And set up a backup only for folders in which material is added?
Regular backups from the 2003 version also work quite well.
only in 7/2008r2 they sawed out the support of tapes and gave them at the mercy of external vendors
Free File Sync
user
Quite fast from the second session.
But versioning is terrible.
For one-way or two-way replication, I did not find a better one, although I tried 5-6 pieces of software (Including SyncToy).
