Poor quality in Sip clients (soft) for Ubuntu?
Hello, the question is, there is a pbx server (Asterisk) in the office.
There are vilans in different offices.
In general, in one wealan there are 6 windows machines, and 1 ubuntu (10.10).
On Windows SIP clients x-lite works fine.
On ubuntu, they just didn’t try x-lite and Ekigu and Sflfon - everywhere the same problem - the sound is interrupted, either in one direction or in the other (Part of the words are lost either when you speak to the interlocutor, or when he speaks).
I would like to know why this is happening. Wi-Fi network, but on Windows everything works with a bang. Maybe someone faced a similar problem.
Thanks in advance.

IMHO, there is still a small chance that some glitches with the sound system can affect, but if they are not observed in other applications, I would sin on codecs and, mb, on network settings.
Although in your case the option with codecs is also not so likely, because you use x-lite in both systems.
Purely out of curiosity, you can even set the priority of the voip application higher than usual, although this option would only help if the system is heavily loaded.
Try different codecs. Probably by default, the wrong option is selected between Windows and Ubuntu.
Of all the variety of sip-clients under Ubuntu, you can only watch without a shudder on SFLphone, which I use. With him - everything is fine, the sound does not sausage. The rest either did not take off at all, or had such a fierce look that I'd better call from the Bash script;)
