PC crashed after adding RAM, how did it happen?

Such a thing, there was an old PC in which there was 4 GB of RAM (2x2). He worked for many years and did not complain about anything. At some point, I decided to add 1 more 2GB stick to it. For a whole week everything was fine, I sat on the Internet, played games, but then the PC stopped giving a picture on the screen. Juggling the os didn't help. With other strips, too, did not start. What could be the reason for the breakdown? On the mother did not see traces of burnout.

Ps
Now I decided to buy an RAM stick and an m2 ssd in my laptop and I'm very afraid to sentence it the same way as a PC. It's still difficult to shoot the battery there ...

Pss I can't contact the SC at the moment ...

If the breakdown of the old PC happened after replacing the RAM, this does not mean that the problem is in it. If there is a problem with the image, then if I were you, I would first of all check the processor and video card.
In general, try to clean the contacts of the RAM, it may have oxidized. Even though it's kinda dumb...

1. I agree with the previous commentators - the breakdown may not be related to the replacement of the RAM, but I will also assume the 2nd option: or some of the microcircuits began to overheat and at some point the overheating became critical.
3. You did not fully insert the RAM and it worked until one fine day (you or your cat) shoved the system unit and it moved away during operation and caused a failure.
4. I would check the vidyuhi and cooling on the processor once you changed them in the same way.
