Mac mini for python and web development?

Hello, I'm doing web development in python, I use docker, sometimes I have to raise the local database, PyCharm. I'm thinking of buying a mac mini, but I don't know if 4GB is enough? Or is it better to save up for 8? I don't want a Macbook.

If the work is simple (a regular site and nothing more) it will do, if it is something DRF, NodeJS (websocket) then I would recommend already 8.

Now a comfortable minimum is 16GB, and then if you do not actively use virtual machines.
With 8GB it is no longer possible to work with virtual machines, and without them you will have to constantly worry about memory.
And you are thinking about 4 ... The browser alone will gobble up so much.

I have a 2014 Macbook Air: PyCharm, Chrome, Insomnia, Telegram, iTerm, and Docker stable open with a few containers running. the flight is normal, I do not feel any discomfort.
I think Mac mini is suitable for similar tasks.

I recently changed my laptop from 12 GB of memory to 16, since 12 is already categorically not enough. Pycharm, MySQL / PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Redis, plus a browser, plus various electronic applications (I have at least slack and skype), eat up all the memory, the system constantly started to go into swap in recent months and freeze for several minutes while everything is swapped .
I don’t know how long 16 GB will last, the laptop is expandable up to 32, fortunately.
The categorical minimum is 8 GB, for a beginner and simple tasks.

4 do not take, it is very small. At least 8. Immediately lay on the SSD at least for the system.
If it's Mini, then it makes sense not to save up, but to buy late 2012 - MD387, 388 - you can add up to 16 memory and generally good machines. I have 387 working for all tasks with two monitors and I am completely satisfied with it.
