LiveJournal or your own blog?
Good afternoon!
Now I have my own blog on my website. Everything is ok, but the attendance is low. I have been doing SEO optimization for more than a year and I know what needs to be done to promote the site, but . I keep my blog for the soul and write posts there that often cannot be found through a search engine. There is no desire to engage in text optimization / link building, crowding, etc. This is where I share my thoughts, post travel reports, photos, and post long reads. Therefore, a question arose.
Does it make sense to go to LiveJournal and try everything the same there. The audience of children does not interest me. Other social networks do not fit.
VK is not a format.
Twitter - little text.
Instagram - flickr, tumblr - too concentrated on photos.
Telegram is cool, but so far there are issues with promotion, and technically there are jambs that do not allow you to go into it.
In short, from the format that suits me, I see only LiveJournal and my site.
Actually the question is this. Will it be easier to promote your blog inside LiveJournal? Since the audience can "accidentally" stumble upon a post and become a regular subscriber, which is hardly feasible on the site (as I see it). The target audience of LJ is the one that is needed (readers, adults). + You can draw traffic from PS. In Yandex, I periodically see burning posts in the TOP.
And question 2. Is LiveJournal as dead as they say about it?
Thank you.

First question: yes, it makes sense. At a minimum, there are no problems with indexing in search engines.
The second question: he is not dead, just after all the telegrams and YouTubes, the audience sank a little. But, as you said, there are "reading, adult people" there.
LiveJournal and possibly broadcast in Yandex.Zen, while they didn’t fill it there
